The “4-Day Throw Away” campaign informed consumers about the dangers of foodborne illnesses and the need to eat, freeze or throw away leftovers. This application provided users a means of looking up specific guidelines for a wide range of foods and including safe times for refrigeration and freezing as well as information on potential micro-organisms and other hazards. The campaign was funded by a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant.
